Key Duties and Responsibilities : Performs work that involves visual inspection of predefined construction areas and reading and interpretation of utility maps to determine the presence of underground utilities, while using specialized electronic equipment to accurately detect, verify and locate buried utilities. Locate technicians will work in and walk over all types of terrain (grass, gravel, ditches, etc) in and around construction zones and residential, commercial, industrial and rural areas in all types of weather conditions. Locators will also remove and replace manhole lids and must be able to lift up to 75 pounds periodically in order to properly locate buried lines.
