Interface routinely with other members of water quality management team to coordinate activities and share ideas. Four year degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering. An advanced degree is preferred, but not required. Seven to ten years experience in operation of water treatment plants 10 MGD or larger. GENERAL FUNCTIONS: This position manages the water treatment facility for their assigned division including all production employees. The Production Manager controls the operation expense budget for maintenance, power, chemicals and miscellaneous small expenditures for the water production facility, booster stations, tanks and other equipment and identifies, requests budget and implements capital projects to improve or maintain the operational status of the water production assets for the Division. Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology or engineering. Previous experience should include supervision, work with computer control systems and programming, environmental chemistry and laboratory procedures, computational skills to calculate chemical dosages and determine calibration of chemical feed systems, basic mechanical skills to maintain large pumps, drives, motors, piping systems, chemical feeders and storage tanks, knowledge of electrical power distribution and control systems, interpersonal skills necessary to effectively conduct business with internal and external customers (customers, employees, colleagues, corporate office, regulators, public officials, vendors, communities etc.). Must be computer literate, especially with word processing, e-mail and spreadsheet applications.
