Based out of Madison, PA at our Waltz Mill facility, the Level I Field Service Technician will provide Reactor Systems Field Services at remote operating nuclear power plants & service center operations, utilizing high technology service & in a manner reflecting Westinghouse's commitment to the highest level of quality.1. Set up, operate, maintain and troubleshoot reactor systems field service equipment at customer sites, using but not limited to plant installed equipment, cleaning processes, non-destructive examination (NDE) technology, repair technology and computer networks. 2. Perform Service Center support functions including but not limited to service equipment maintenance and check out, equipment and facility decontamination, equipment packing and unpacking, shipment preparations, material handling and calibration activities. Review operational and maintenance procedure and drawings in detail. 3. Provide support to product engineering and training by performing activities such as equipment modifications, equipment setup and testing, mock-up preparation, process testing, and equipment and process qualifications. Accurately document equipment performance issues during field implementation, and ensure corrective actions are complete prior to next scheduled use. 4. Participate in performance-based training programs to acquire and maintain certifications as well as keep current with technology and procedures. 5. Perform all assigned tasks under general supervision, with a high degree of quality, and within the parameters of qualified procedures and guidelines. Maintain a high level of attention to detail, and document all quality related issues. 6. Practice ALARA principle and a "Safety First" attitude as an integral part of all activities. Demonstrate good housekeeping practices in work areas. 7. Develop, exercise and promote team-building skills with peers, supervisors, contractors, customers and other departments. Demonstrate good customer sensitivity and customer service skills. Develop and maintain a focus on creative problem solving. 8. This position requires extensive travel (50-70%), maintenance of "Unescorted Access" status, and working with hazardous materials.

Complete pre-operational maintenance on equipment, monitor equipment operation during the fuel move cycle. Troubleshoot and repair all equipment failures. Complete and file project logs, along with post job customer reporting follow-up with the customer on open issues to ensure closure prior to the next outage. Assist with the installation of new PaR automated fuel handling equipment. Duties would include mechanical assembly, drilling and taping, motors and gearbox mounting, sheaves, reels and other mechanical components. Duties also include electrical assembly, cable routing, cabinet wiring, field set up, debug and final acceptance testing. Additional technical requirements will include experience with PLC and HMI controls, software troubleshooting, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. In house responsibilities will include mechanical / electric shop support, equipment set up, debug and testing as well as engineering support during the review phase of new projects. This is a field service position, which will require 75% travel in and outside of the US as well as the ability to gain and maintain unescorted site access as a condition of employment.This position requires the ability to travel up to 75% of the time during our outage seasons.
