Job Description
Install machine tools products:
- Install and demonstrate new machines in customer plants, including electrical or mechanical check-outs, set up, tooling, operation and programming.
- Prepare and submit demonstration reports accurately and promptly.
Service machine tools products:
- Perform basic electrical/electronic, or mechanical, or hydraulic problem diagnosis and repair in customer's plants during warranty period
- Cross-train on mechanical, electrical & electronic maintenance
- Advise and assist customers with most operations and programming problems during warranty period
- Perform most maintenance work and provide basic assistance needed by customer following warranty period
- Advise and assist in selection and ordering of tools and repair parts
- Prepare and submit weekly service time and expense reports accurately and promptly
- Attend schools, seminars, and conferences to keep up with updates
- Train customer personnel in processing, tooling, operating, and servicing of all products
Skills & Qualifications
- Associates degree in related field or other engineering discipline preferred. Mechatronics degree would be ideal.
- 1-4 years experience with machine tools maintenance or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and laser systems. Knowledge of electrical diagnostic instruments and shop/hand tools.
- Ability to read mechanical/electrical schematics and blueprints and diagnose/troubleshoot electromechanical devices.
- Experience with CNC equipment is a PLUS
- Robotics experience is a PLUS
- Requires up to 90% travel (mostly within North America, occasional annual trainings at HQ in Japan).
- Must have a valid passport (or be working toward getting one) and a valid drivers license with a clean driving record
- 2-4 years of experience will be considered Level 1
- 4+ years of experience will be considered Level 2
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00/yr.
