Job Requisition: REQ3624 Employment Type: Full-time Shift: Days w/weekends & rotating shifts Hours Per Week: 40-hours week Hiring range: $ 25.07 - $33.53 The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law. Responsibilities: Overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and performance of the hospital's central utility plant. This includes boilers, chillers, emergency generators, HVAC systems, and other critical infrastructure. Ensures continuous, safe, and efficient operation of all plant systems to support patient care and hospital operations. Supervises a team of plant operators and coordinates with engineering and maintenance staff to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies. Key Responsibilities: + Supervision & Leadership + Lead and schedule a team of power plant operators and maintenance personnel. + Provide training, mentorship, and assist team of Plant Operators. + Ensure 24/7 coverage and respond to emergencies as needed. + Operations & Maintenance + Monitor and operate boilers, chillers, air compressors, pumps, and emergency generators. + Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting. + Maintain logs, records, and reports on plant performance and incidents. + Compliance & Safety + Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, NFPA, CMS, TJC DNV). + Maintain documentation for inspections, permits, and audits. + Enforce safety protocols and participate in safety training and drills. + Energy Management + Monitor energy usage and recommend efficiency improvements. Assist in implementing energy conservation measures and sustainability initiatives. + Emergency Preparedness + Oversee operation of backup power systems during outages. Participate in disaster preparedness planning and drills. Education: High school diploma/GED with minimum five (5) years experience boiler & mechanical experience. Supervisory experience preferred. Valid NYS driver license required Must be able to speak, read, write and follow instructions in English.
