Water/Wastewater Hydraulic Modeling Senior Project Manager

Join our team as a Senior Project Manager within our Utilities (water/wastewater) practice area. This is a hybrid role based out of our Cary, North Carolina office.

In this role, you will serve as a key technical and strategic leader delivering complex modeling projects and guiding long-term planning efforts for public utilities and municipalities. You will lead projects, develop staff, support business growth, and provide technical oversight - with a strong focus on advancing water and wastewater infrastructure through data-driven modeling and innovative planning approaches.

  • Lead and manage multi-disciplinary projects related to water distribution and wastewater collection system modeling, master planning, and capital improvement planning
  • Serve as the primary client contact for major modeling and planning assignments, providing high-level guidance, vision, and technical direction
  • Oversee the development and calibration of hydraulic models, and ensure quality control in the analysis, interpretation, and reporting of modeling results
  • Mentor and supervise project managers, engineers, and analysts, supporting their technical growth and professional development
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate modeling efforts into broader utility strategies
  • Drive innovation in modeling workflows, scenario planning, and data analytics to better serve client needs
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, support proposal development, and contribute to thought leadership within the industry
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and staffing allocations to ensure successful delivery of projects on time and within scope

Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Professional Engineer
  • 10+ years of engineering/industry experience with demonstrated team management experience
  • Self-motivated, engaged, team-oriented, and strategic thinking with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Strong leadership and project management skills as well as excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Experience with business and strategic planning processes
  • Knowledge of contracts, accounting principles, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Proven Track record of mentoring and coaching
  • Proven track record of developing existing and new client relationships
  • Energetic, flexible, confident, and forward thinking
