Electrical Technician

Science, Engineering, Management Solutions, LLC (Sem-Sol) is a small business located in Albuquerque, NM. The company consists of skilled scientists, engineers and technicians that specialize in directed energy and pulsed power systems.

Sem-Sol is seeking an experienced Technician who can excel in a start-up environment. We are a growing firm, and our growth gives rise to a fast-paced environment. We need a technician who embraces the challenge. Our ideal candidate is a team player with:

• Strong mechanical/technical skills
• Ability to communicate effectively, multi-task and prioritize competing tasks/deadlines
• Ability to take direction from supervisors and project managers
• Willingness to expand into areas without prior experience
• Desire to learn testing and work on pulsed power systems

Duties will include:

• Construct components, subunits, or simple models and adapt standard equipment.
• Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions requiring simple solutions.
• Follow specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
• Gather and maintain specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc.
• Perform computations by substituting numbers in specified formulas.
• Plot data and draws simple curves and graphs.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• 3+ years of experience using a wide array of equipment
• Ability to take direction in a positive manner

Desired Skills/Experience/Qualifications:

• Experience in a research and development (R&D) environment or prototype shop
• Active Top Secret security clearance
