The Public Utilities Commissions of Ohio (PUCO) affect nearly every household in Ohio. The PUCO regulates providers of all types of utility services which include electric and natural gas companies, local and long-distance telephone, water and wastewater, and rail and trucking companies. Job Description

Job Summary: The Human Capital Management Senior Analyst is responsible for managing and overseeing payroll processes and employee benefits administration for PUCO employees. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and provides support for payroll and benefits-related inquiries and issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Process bi-weekly payroll for PUCO employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.

Maintain and update payroll and benefits records, including employee information, salary changes, and deductions.

Resolve payroll and benefits discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits issues.

Conduct regular audits of payroll and benefits procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Stay updated on changes in payroll and benefits laws and regulations and implement necessary adjustments.

Serve as absence management specialist focusing on FMLA, disability, adoption/childbirth leave, etc.

Report in location: 180 E. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43215, Franklin County.

PUCO core hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across PUCO departments. Most positions perform work on-site at the PUCO Central Office. Flex-time schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.

Salary Information: Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary is set at the lowest rate of the salary range. In most cases, successful employees will increase a step in the salary range within six months, with subsequent step increases occurring every year. In addition, the State of Ohio offers cost of living adjustments, longevity supplements after five years of public service, and wellness incentives.

Qualifications

3 yrs. exp. in human resources.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in human resources, business or public administration; 12 mos. exp. in human resources.

-Or 1 yr. exp. as Human Capital Management Analyst, 64612.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
