An innovative and well-established US-based Oil & Gas client is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Origination Manager – Crude Oil to join their Commercial Refining team onsite in Dallas, TX. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of crude oil trading, market dynamics, and commercial deal structuring.
This position is responsible for managing advanced and complex analysis to develop, evaluate, and formulate growth strategies related to crude oil supply, trading, and transportation. Success in this role hinges on understanding customer needs, identifying new market opportunities, collaborating with internal stakeholders, and crafting impactful business strategies that drive long-term value.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Originate and structure crude oil supply and trading deals that align with business goals.
- Leverage your expertise in crude oil trading principles, exposure risk, and market behavior to drive commercial success.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with producers, suppliers, pipelines, and industry stakeholders.
- Conduct complex financial modeling, feasibility studies, and market analysis to evaluate opportunities.
- Collaborate across departments to optimize infrastructure and trading margins.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, contracts, and strategic partnerships.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership, balancing long-term growth with short-term execution.
What You Bring
- Minimum of 10 years in crude oil trading, origination, or energy commodity business development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a technical field (MBA preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of crude oil trading markets, pricing mechanisms, and risk management tools.
- Proven ability to originate and execute multi-commodity deals.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and economic modeling tools.
