SUMMARY

Performs all operations of the cleaning house assuring that area meets all federal and local regulations. Monitors the wastewater treatment plant assuring safe operation and compliance. Performs daily lift truck safety check sheet and ensures safe operation of their equipment. Works daily to ensure assigned areas of responsibility are working at risk lowered to ALARA specifically in an effort to achieve ZERO HARM.

Schedule:

7:00PM - 7:00AM, Monday - Thursday

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Other duties may be assigned.

Cleaning House

  • Satisfactorily completes Cleaning House training class.
  • Understands rod cleaning and coating related to quality and efficiency of subsequent production processes.
  • Understands and satisfactorily performs all procedures outlined in Cleaning House SOP related to Rod Hauling
  • Inspects rod prior to delivery for cleaning. First In-First Out method.
  • Completes fork truck check list before operation.
  • Stages of rod behind machines and in other assigned locations, procedures for minimizing scrap. Responsible for housekeeping.
  • Understands and satisfactorily performs all procedures outlined in Cleaning House SOP related to Tank Maintenance including decants and housekeeping.
  • Satisfactorily performs test procedures as outlined for acid, zinc phosphate, rinse and neutralizer tanks. Based on test results understands and performs corrective action if indicated.
  • Safely and efficiently perform cleaning/coating procedures documented in Cleaning House Process SOP.
  • Reports any problems, damage or inoperable equipment to manager
  • Maintains tank fluid levels and temperature levels
  • Performs required checks on all process tanks to maintain correct parameters and records data
  • Maintains carrier operation (Cleaning House) when equipment is in automatic mode
  • Maintain phosphate sludge control through manual filter press
  • Coordinates dump schedule while maximizing carrier operation

Wastewater

  • Monitors waste water treatment plant in conjunction with cleaning operation.
  • Responds to alarms as required.
  • Understands and satisfactorily performs all procedures outlined in SOP's related to pH controls and water test parameters.
  • Performs all operations of wastewater treatment system within set parameters to meet state and federal guidelines.
  • Maintains Wastewater Discharge at required permit levels; using consistent pH control/polymer additions and automated filter press system.
  • Must understand environmental impact of the system and control testing to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Performs all procedures outlined in SOP's related to receiving acid and chemicals. Understands valves and automated systems.
  • Makes additions of polymers and other water treatment chemicals. Based on test results understands and performs corrective action if indicated.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

The education requirements and experience requirement listed here indicate the minimum basic educational knowledge and minimum previous work-related experience required by the job duties of the position.

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent; ability to complete simple forms and understand simple written instructions. Should have good arithmetic skills involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals. Computer knowledge using MS. Word office products.

Requires the use of some judgment to use acquired job knowledge to comply with instructions and standard procedures, methods or practices involving the making of minor decisions.

Must acquire a Forklift Certification
