Lead Technical Sales Engineer Electrical Power Systems / Transformers Full-Time | Exempt | Reports to VP of Sales Operations

What Youll Do Technical Sales & Application Engineering- Serve as the lead technical expert on complex proposals and projects
- Review RFQs, specifications, and single-line diagrams to develop compliant, competitive solutions
- Recommend and design medium voltage transformer solutions (padmount, unit substation, dry-type)
- Partner with sales and customers to present solutions, resolve technical challenges, and win projects
- Support projects across data centers, renewable energy (solar/wind), and industrial sectors
- Translate field data and test results into actionable retrofit and upgrade scopes
- Evaluate existing/surplus transformers for second-life applications
- Advise on protection schemes, automation, and monitoring systems
- Lead integration of smart monitoring and control technologies
- Mentor inside sales and operations teams on transformer applications and power systems
- Develop technical tools, guides, and training materials
- Act as a bridge between sales, engineering, and field teams
- 10+ years of experience in sales engineering, application engineering, or power systems
- Strong expertise in medium voltage transformers (up to 35kV) :
- Padmount
- Unit substation (liquid-filled)
- Dry-type / cast resin
- Deep knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA standards
- Familiarity with NETA testing standards and commissioning practices
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Electrical drawings & single-line diagrams
- Specifications & protection schemes
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field (PE a plus) (Equivalent hands-on field experience also highly valued)
- Strong communication skillscomfortable in both field environments and executive presentations
- Willingness to travel up to ~10% (customer sites, project support, factory visits)
- Work on high-visibility, mission-critical data center projects
