Village of Crestline, Ohio Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent The Village of Crestline is seeking to fill a full-time Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent position. Pay Range: $31.56 - $36.07 per hour (3-Year Step Scale) If you have a desire to serve your community, lead critical infrastructure operations, and ensure environmental compliance, we invite you to apply and join our team. ________________________________________ POSITION SUMMARY: The Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent serves as the Operator of Record and is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of the Village's wastewater treatment and collection systems. This position works under the direction of the Village Administrator and collaborates with Water Treatment and Service Department staff. ________________________________________ QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of two (2) years of experience in wastewater treatment, maintenance, or related field Possession of a Class III Wastewater Treatment License (Ohio EPA) - REQUIRED Valid Ohio Driver's License ________________________________________ LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Class III Wastewater Treatment License issued by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency Must maintain licensure throughout employment ________________________________________ MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE CHARACTERISTICS: Knowledge of: Wastewater treatment processes; EPA compliance requirements; mechanical systems; safety practices; record keeping and reporting procedures. Skill in: Operating treatment systems; performing preventative maintenance; troubleshooting mechanical and process issues; managing chemical applications and inventory. Ability to: Interpret test results and maintain regulatory compliance Diagnose and resolve operational problems Maintain accurate records and reporting Communicate effectively with staff, regulators, and the public Work independently and supervise personnel Respond to emergency situations and on-call responsibilities ________________________________________ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: Operates and oversees daily functions of the wastewater treatment plant Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations Performs sampling, testing, reporting, and recordkeeping Monitors plant operations, equipment, and system performance Maintains and repairs equipment as needed Supervises and directs wastewater personnel Manages chemical usage and inventory Responds to emergencies and system issues Assists in maintaining sewer collection and stormwater systems This position requires work in indoor and outdoor environments and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, confined spaces, and physically demanding tasks.
