THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION THAT CAN BE BASED ANYWHERE IN SOUTHERN, CAPosition OverviewThe Sr. Field Service Technician provides hands-on field support for the startup, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of industrial boiler systems, thermal fluid heaters, and related equipment. This role works directly with customers across commercial and industrial facilities, ensuring equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. The position also supports training efforts and delivers technical guidance to customers and internal teams. This is a field-based role requiring strong troubleshooting skills, independence, and a high level of technical expertise.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform field service work including startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of boiler and thermal fluid systems.Ensure all service work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer expectations and company standards.Diagnose equipment issues using a systematic and analytical approach and implement effective solutions.Prepare for field assignments by reviewing technical documentation, prior service reports, and site requirements.Provide technical support and guidance to customers, service team members, and internal personnel.Conduct training for customers and team members on proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment.Complete all required documentation, service reports, and communication related to field activities.Support continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on equipment performance, quality, and service processes.Contribute to technical support, manufacturing support, or quality initiatives when not performing field service work.QualificationsExtensive hands-on experience servicing industrial boilers, thermal fluid heaters, or steam generation systems.Strong working knowledge of boiler types and systems, including firetube boilers, watertube boilers, thermal fluid heaters, and hydronic systems.Experience with burner management systems (BMS), combustion controls, flame safeguard systems, and fuel trains is preferred.Ability to troubleshoot combustion issues, including air to fuel ratio, flame stability, ignition systems, and emissions-related performance.Familiarity with industrial control systems, including PLC-based controls, HMIs, and basic SCADA interfaces is a plus.Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems including pumps, heat exchangers, valves, actuators, instrumentation, and control loops.Experience with boiler startup procedures, system commissioning, and performance tuning.Strong troubleshooting skills related to pressure systems, temperature control, flow systems, and fluid dynamics.Experience with water treatment systems and understanding of scale, corrosion, and chemical feed systems is a plus.BenefitsCompetitive compensation package with overtime eligibilityComprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement savings plan with employer contributionPaid time off and paid holidaysProfit-sharing bonus programEmployee assistance program and voluntary insurance optionsOngoing training and professional development opportunitiesField-based role with variety and autonomy
