Job Title: Field Service Technician

Job Description

This is a fully remote position available for candidates based in Phoenix. The primary focus will be on troubleshooting issues as they arise. The role requires experience, therefore, new graduates and junior candidates are not suitable. Candidates with an Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent, along with 3-5 years of experience in a related field, are preferred. The position involves 70% travel and requires reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, dedicated workspace at home.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer pre-consultation, site readiness preparation, and startup monitoring.
  • Participate in conference calls with sales, project management, and customers to prepare for installations.
  • Coordinate equipment and system installations and ensure proper function post-installation.
  • Calibrate HMIs, meters, set timers, temperature seal time, etc., and adjust as required.
  • Train operators and maintenance personnel using provided outlines.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and provide phone and onsite support.
  • Determine causes of operating errors and take corrective actions.
  • Conduct inspections and advise customers on methods to minimize downtime.
  • Complete service reports and follow through with next steps post-service.
  • Maintain knowledge of product functions and applications.
  • Observe safety rules and maintain all supplies and tools properly.
  • Help maintain and control parts inventory and service tool inventory.
  • Assist in the quote process for jobs as requested by sales.
  • Assist in producing short instructional videos and writing machinery documentation for customer applications.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in supporting industrial automation systems, preferably in packaging or material handling environments.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, field service, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Experience in scheduling and administrative tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Background in machine build, machine installation, manufacturing support, or pharmacy is desirable.
  • Experience with customer and project support post-sale.

Work Environment

The work schedule is flexible with hours, Monday through Friday, and eventually involves being on-call and working Saturday and Sunday every 8-9 weeks. The position allows for travel time to be paid, including door-to-door travel time, vehicle mileage, drive time, flights, and layovers, all through expenses. There are opportunities for advancement and potential for leadership roles in the future.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
