Senior Field Service Engineer - Relay & Electrical Testing (Low Voltage)
Job Summary:
The Senior Field Service Engineer is responsible for leading the testing,missioning, and maintenance of protective relay systems, switchgear, and circuit breakers. This role requires strong technical expertise in SEL relays and electrical testing, along with the ability to interpret results and provide actionable rmendations. The majority of work is performed on low-voltage systems (480V) and requires travel throughout the Southeast U.S.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead testing,missioning, and troubleshooting of protective relays, including SEL relays (SEL-651R2 preferred)
Perform and oversee electrical testing of circuit breakers (non-mechanical), including analysis of results and system performance
Provide detailed rmendations based on testing oues and equipment condition
Conduct testing and inspection of switchgear and associated electrical equipment
Mentor junior technicians and provide technical guidance in the field
Prepare and review detailed test reports, ensuring accuracy andpleteness
Interface with clients on-site tomunicate findings, rmendations, and project updates
Ensurepliance with safety standards and industry best practices
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in relay testing, field service, or power systems
Strong experience with SEL relays, specifically SEL-651R2 preferred
Hands-on experience with switchgear and circuit breaker electrical testing
Ability to analyze test data and make technical rmendations
Solid understanding of low- and medium-voltage systems (primarily 480V)
Strong leadership,munication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
Work Environment:
Field-based role with travel throughout the Southeast U.S.
Approximately 90% of work is on 480V (low-voltage) systems
