Field Service Technician
Job Description

As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for traveling to various client sites, which may be located nearby or up to several hours away. This role involves significant travel, with an expectation of overnight stays and occasional plane travel. You will work on weekends when necessary and may receive overtime compensation. Your primary duties will include diagnosing and solving mechanical and electrical issues, interacting with customers, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Travel daily to client sites, with an average travel time of 1-2 hours one way, and up to 50% overnight travel.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs on equipment, including HEPA filters, fume hoods, and medical HVAC systems.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and certify clean rooms, ensuring all equipment meets required standards.
  • Utilize technology such as service software, tablets, and measurement tools to document findings and generate reports.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by confidently communicating findings and recommendations.
  • Adapt to changing environments and embrace continuous learning to improve technical expertise.
  • Own the customer relationships and manage documentation using Excel reports.
Essential Skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with various professionals, including pharmacists and biomedical engineers.
  • Proficiency in math and data entry, particularly in Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel extensively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Degree from a 2-year technical college or a 4-year program is preferred but not required.
  • Tech-savvy individuals who can be trained in necessary skills.
  • Presentation skills to maintain a professional appearance.
Work Environment

This role requires extensive travel to customer sites, including clean rooms, to work on equipment such as fume hoods, biosafety cabinets, medical HVAC systems, laminar flows, and autoclaves. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.

401K: 3% Match
