Position Summary & Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL ABILITIES FOR ALL KING COUNTY JOB CLASSIFICATIONS

Carpet Care: Sweeps, cleans and identifies/removes spots from carpet to ensure that they are clean, free from stains and look attractive. This requires operating equipment such as sweepers and extractors, knowledge and appropriate application of stain removal and carpet cleaning techniques and products for various types of carpets.
Floor Care: Sweeps, mops, strips, waxes and/or buffs a variety of floor surfaces to ensure that flooring, baseboards, corners and stairs are maintained in a clean, shiny, safe and attractive manner and one which reflects positively on the agency. This requires operating a variety of hand and motorized tools and equipment such as mops, strippers, buffers, etc.; knowledge and correct application of floor cleaning techniques and products for ceramic, tile, carpet, and cement.
Bathroom, Drinking Fountains and Break Room Kitchen Care: Cleans and disinfects sinks, toilets/urinals, drinking fountains, walls, shower stalls etc., to ensure they shine and are free from spots and build up, free from germs and bacteria, look attractive and meet customers' expectations. Monitors, files and requests, paper towels, hand soap, toilet paper and deodorizers to ensure customers have adequate amounts of supplies to always meet their needs.
General Cleaning: Dusts bookshelves, file cabinets, furniture; empties trash; wipes walls; cleans vents, light fixtures, venetian blinds, office modular fabric dividers, whiteboards and trays, windows and doors etc. to maintain a clean, attractive environment which projects a positive image of the agency. This requires identifying and taking appropriate cleaning action, paying attention to details and knowledge and proper application of general cleaning techniques and products appropriate for each item.
Customer Relationships: Develops and maintains effective customer relationships to assist with maintaining an attractive and clean working environment per the preferences and requirements of Customer. This is done by listening to customers' needs, responding to emergencies or special requests, arranging work to reduce or avoid disruption to customers, etc.
Minor Repairs: Performs a variety of minor repairs to assist with returning equipment and fixtures to working order, i.e. clogged sinks and toilets, replacing belts etc., Requires knowledge of minor plumbing. May provide standard mowing duties when requested by supervisor.
Related: Performs a variety of related duties, such as clearing sidewalks of snow, ice and debris; weed eating around buildings and sidewalks, cleaning cigarette receptacles, setting up and rearranging chairs and tables for special events, moving furniture for cleaning; placing warning signs in wet or waxed floors, etc.

- HS Diploma or Equivalent
Licensing & Certification:
- Must maintain a Driver license as a condition of employment
Minimum Qualifications:
- Prefer 6 months of custodial experience
Special knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Knowledge of chemicals used in cleaning a variety of surfaces to include different kinds of files, flooring, and carpet. Reading to follow label guidelines when using cleaning chemicals for safe usage and mixing them.
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a KBI background investigation and maintain a Driver's License
