Wastewater Operator-in-Training (3rd Shift)

Job Summary:
Seeking a motivated Operator-in-Training to support overnight wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance activities. This role involves monitoring plant processes, operating treatment systems, collecting samples, performing quality control testing, and supporting preventive maintenance efforts to ensure safe and efficient wastewater operations. The ideal candidate will have basic mechanical aptitude, computer skills, and an interest in wastewater treatment operations and environmental services.

Pay: $21.00- $23.00 per hour DOE

Qualifications:

• Basic experience operating wastewater treatment plants or related industrial equipment preferred
• Basic knowledge of wastewater treatment operations, pumps, valves, and motors preferred
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and data entry systems
• Ability to use maintenance management and laboratory information systems
• Valid drivers license with clean driving record
• TCEQ Class D wastewater license or willingness to obtain preferred
• Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed
• Strong attention to safety, teamwork, and operational procedures

Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor wastewater treatment systems and equipment
• Control flow and processing of wastewater, sludge, and effluent
• Observe operating conditions and interpret meter and gauge readings
• Perform preventive maintenance and assist with equipment upkeep
• Collect samples, maintain logs, and assist with quality control testing
• Enter operational and maintenance data into tracking systems
• Support plant operations and respond to operational issues as needed
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support facility operations

Schedule (3rd Shift / Overnight):

• Friday: 10:00 PM 11:00 AM
• Saturday: 9:00 PM 9:00 AM
• Sunday: 9:00 PM 6:00 AM
• Monday: 11:00 PM 5:00 AM
• TuesdayThursday: Off
• Additional overtime shifts may be available
