Orange County Utilities provides water resources and solid waste recovery services to protect and enrich the lives of the citizens and guests of Orange County Florida. The Field Services Division is responsible for the inspection, testing, regulatory compliance, operation, and maintenance of over 4,800 miles of pipeline, over 11,000 fire hydrants, and approximately 860 wastewater pump stations.
The Field Services Division is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Senior Utilities Maintenance Coordinator (Field Support Center) on the Training Team. This position is responsible for scheduling, planning, and coordinating with vendors and contractors to ensure proper execution of work and/or maintenance activities of multiple work groups. This position will also be responsible for facilitating, coordinating, and the development of Field Services heavy equipment and other utilities infrastructure/operational training efforts.
Job Description
General Functions:
Coordinates maintenance activities by multiple crews, schedules work activities to maintain facilities in efficient operating condition, reviews work performed by a variety of trades, coordinates activities of vendors and subcontractors, and responds to emergency situations to correct operating problems in a timely fashion. Work performed involves highly complex technical work. Prepares budget recommendations, is responsible for meeting budget objectives and approves minor budget expenditures. Work requires a great deal of independent judgement under the general supervision of a designated supervisor.
Representative Duties /Assignments
- Coordinates and facilitates activities performed by a variety of trades including vendors and contractors.
- Plans and schedules work based on budget requirements.
- Coordinates daily tasks and activities performed by staff and contractors.
- Maintains tracking software for budgeting and invoicing work performed.
- Overseeing the schedule and coordination of multiple groups.
- Create and present PowerPoint presentations to management and staff.
- Knowledge of computer-based maintenance programs (Maximo)
- Preparing performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Ability to read and prepare technical specifications as well as prepare bid documentation for contractors.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent and five (5) years of experience in the operations, maintenance and rehabilitation of utilities infrastructure; or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's license.
Preferences
- Strong collaboration skills to work with cross functional teams
- Strong working knowledge of water and wastewater systems including operations maintenance and rehabilitation of infrastructure
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience in developing and implementing data management solutions
- Ability to present complex data insights to non technical stakeholders
- Experience with statistical analysis and data mining techniques
- Vast knowledge of an asset management system (i.e. Maximo)
- Experience in work order management
- Experience with data quality management and data governance frameworks

Notes
Hours per week: 40
Schedule: Eight (8) hours per day, five (5) days per week or ten (10) hours per day, four (4) days per week or as needed to include weekends and holidays. Work hours are subject to change based on the needs of the Division.
