Field Service Engineer

Job Description

Join our dynamic team in field service where you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of new or modified equipment at customer facilities. This role requires extensive travel and offers an opportunity to work on a wide range of technical equipment, providing vital on-site technical assistance and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Install and service new or modified equipment at customer locations.
  • Review performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives.
  • Inspect malfunctioning or damaged products and coordinate problem resolution with engineering and customer service teams.
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and/or program PLCs, including Siemens, ABB, and Fanuc systems.
  • Maintain detailed records of performance reports.
  • Analyze reports of technical problems to identify trends and recommend modifications for future designs, production, service, and maintenance.
  • Develop service handbooks and bulletins based on field investigations and engineering changes.
  • Act as a communication link between the customer and the company.
  • Travel up to 75% of the time to various customer sites.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of field service experience.
  • Strong electrical experience and ability to read blueprints.
  • Knowledge of electrical wiring and conduit.
  • Understanding of sensors and operating mechanisms.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering is a plus.
  • Experience with conveyers and hydraulics.
  • Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming and troubleshooting.

Work Environment

Work in a very large, clean manufacturing space attached to a multi-story office building. When not traveling, time will be spent troubleshooting equipment. Expect a work schedule of 10-12 hour days with overtime paid at time and a half. Travel will occur 2-3 weeks per month, with trips lasting from 3 days to up to 2 weeks. Candidates will travel throughout the U.S., and occasionally to Mexico and Canada. The role may require working some holidays, such as Thanksgiving and the 4th of July. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
