Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a highly organized and proactive professional to join our practice as a Site Inspector & Field Ambassador working around 50% of your time at a project site in Caledon, Peel Region. This role combines stakeholder engagement, project communications, and on-site presence during construction, with construction on-site experience considered mandatory. You will act as a key liaison between project teams, contractors, and community stakeholders while monitoring construction activities and supporting clear, proactive communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with project delivery managers, communications manager, contractors, and external agencies.
  • Develop and maintain project Engagement Plans and communications.
  • Ensure project information is accurate on program webpages and PlanEngage.
  • Maintain stakeholder lists and build relationships with schools, businesses, health centers, and community organizations.
  • Prepare and distribute notices, newsletters, maps, and event materials.
  • Host Public Information Centres and stakeholder meetings.
  • Conduct Business and Institutional Care Program (BICP) surveys and regular checkins with area businesses.
  • Plan and manage project signage, wayfinding, and hoarding.
  • Support proactive issues resolution.
  • Monitor construction progress to understand schedules, impacts, and mitigation measures and communicate these clearly to stakeholders.
  • Review Traffic Management and Construction Management Plans to assess impacts on the travelling public, businesses, institutions, and property owners.
  • Track monthly progress lookaheads and provide clear updates to stakeholders.
  • Participate in project kickoffs, biweekly reviews, and coordination meetings.
  • Input projectlevel communications information into progress reports and communications calendars.
  • Track constructionrelated outages (planned and emergency) for communication to key stakeholders.
  • Train and mentor junior staff in communications procedures and standards.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and photo records for use in communications materials.
QUALIFICATIONS

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Experience working on construction sites is required, with preference for work on linear municipal water/wastewater and/or tunneling projects.
  • Proven project management skills, delivering quality results on time and within budget.
  • Experience in construction contract administration, consulting, and/or community consultations (preferred).
  • Strong listening and problemsolving skills for issues resolution.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work seamlessly with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Capacity to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Selfmotivated with strong technical writing and public speaking abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions as required.

Education and Experience

  • A university degree or postgraduate college diploma is preferred
  • Minimum of 25 years experience in construction, stakeholder management, and project implementation, within water infrastructure projects.
