The Maritime Systems Division (MSD) of Leidos is currently seeking a qualified, energetic, and resourceful individual to fill the position of Marine Electrical Technician. Leidos MSD develops and deploys advanced technology solutions that address existing and emerging maritime missions of national importance for a broad range of customers across the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, other governmental agencies, and commercial clients.

This role involves the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing of electrical systems aboard specialized marine platforms. This role will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to mission-critical engineering projects serving both defense and commercial maritime initiatives.
Whats in it for you?
This position requires travel and coordination with engineering activities at Leidos and other government facilities. Travel may include multiple locations across the United States and possibly the United Kingdom. Initial focus will be supporting various US Navy programs such as the Ghost Fleet in San Diego and Port Hueneme, CA.
THE CHALLENGE (primary responsibilities)
- Install and maintain marine electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, controls, and communication networks
- Diagnose faults and repair electrical equipment such as motors, generators, switchboards, and instrumentation panels
- Perform electrical testing and calibration in compliance with maritime standards
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Assist with the integration of instrumentation and control systems into marine platforms
- Document work performed and maintain accurate maintenance logs
- Comply with relevant safety regulations, codes, and company standards
WHAT SETS YOU APART (basic qualifications)
- High school diploma or equivalent and 2 4 years of prior relevant experience in marine electrical systems, preferably in shipboard or offshore environments
- Familiarity with military standards, maritime regulatory codes, and environmental requirements
- Experience with diagnostic tools, electrical test equipment, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a dynamic marine environment
- U.S. Citizenship (due to federal contract requirements)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, including work aboard vessels as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree in Instrumentation Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline

Pay Range: Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
