Utility Account Executive Jobs
A Utility Account Executive is a professional who oversees and manages the relationships between a utility company and its clients or customers. They act as the primary point of contact, dealing with issues such as billing disputes, service interruptions, and general customer inquiries. These executives also work towards achieving or exceeding sales and revenue targets, and play a vital role in developing and maintaining customer relations. Their responsibilities often include presenting sales proposals, negotiating contracts, and reviewing utility service needs of clients.
Important skills for a Utility Account Executive include excellent customer service, strong communication and negotiation abilities, and a good understanding of the utilities industry. They should also be adept at problem solving and decision making, and have strong leadership abilities. In terms of certifications, while not always required, credentials like Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Professional Energy Manager (CPEM) can be beneficial. Prior to becoming a Utility Account Executive, individuals may have roles such as Account Manager, Sales Representative, or Customer Service Representative within the utility or a related industry.
