Kforce has a client in Madison, WI that is seeking a Project Control Specialist IV responsible for managing project controls across cost, schedule, and forecasting for large-scale construction projects. This role supports the full project lifecycle from planning through close-out, ensuring accurate reporting, risk visibility, and alignment with contractual and financial requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project scheduling, cost tracking, and forecasting across all phases
  • Develop and maintain resource-loaded schedules (Primavera P6)
  • Perform schedule analysis (critical path, variance, progress validation)
  • Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models
  • Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) to track performance
  • Identify risks, cost/schedule variances, and provide mitigation plans
  • Support contract administration, change orders, and entitlement analysis
  • Partner with finance/accounting on project reporting and forecasting
  • Oversee document control processes (RFIs, submittals, transmittals) in systems like Unifie
  • Interface with project teams, contractors, and vendors to validate cost and schedule data* Experience in project controls on construction or capital projects
  • Experience with resource-loaded schedules and progress tracking
  • Understanding of construction contracts (EPC, Lump Sum, T&M, Cost Plus, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify risks early and drive action
  • Comfortable working across project, finance, and contractor teams
  • Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Strong hands-on experience with:

  • Primavera P6 (required)
  • Cost forecasting/budgeting
  • Schedule analysis
  • Earned Value Management (EVM)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Primavera Unifier or similar document management tools
  • Background in utilities, power generation, or heavy construction
  • Familiarity with financial modeling / corporate forecasting tools
