Wastewater Operator in Training

We are seeking a motivated Operator-in-Training to join our wastewater treatment operations team. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to start or grow a career in water/wastewater treatment. You will work as part of a collaborative team responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted plant operations.

Pay: $24.00 per hour

What Youll Do:

• Assist in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant
• Monitor and control flow of water, wastewater, sludge, and effluent
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks
• Collect samples and perform routine quality control testing
• Monitor gauges, meters, and control systems
• Maintain shift logs and operational records
• Follow safety procedures and support a safe work environment
• Perform additional duties as assigned

What Were Looking For:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Basic experience or interest in water/wastewater treatment operations
• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record (no major infractions)
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry systems
• Ability to learn maintenance management systems
• Currently certified or working toward a first-level water/wastewater certification preferred
• Basic understanding of pumps, valves, motors, and treatment plant operations

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
This role involves working in both indoor and outdoor environments, often around industrial equipment. Conditions may include exposure to noise, machinery, confined spaces, heights, chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles.
