Utilities Project Manager Jobs
A Utilities Project Manager in the utilities industry is responsible for managing and overseeing various projects related to utilities such as water, gas, and electricity systems. These professionals plan, coordinate, and direct utility projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the agreed quality standards. They are tasked with risk management, contract negotiation, budgeting, resource allocation, and team management. They also liaise with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory bodies, and ensure adherence to safety regulations and compliance standards.
Key skills for a Utilities Project Manager include excellent leadership and communication skills, project management expertise, proficient knowledge in utility systems, and the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and problem-solving abilities are also vital. They should hold a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Certified Construction Manager (CCM). Prior experience in the utility industry is a must, often in roles such as a Utility Engineer, Utilities Supervisor, or Project Coordinator, which provide the necessary technical knowledge and industry experience required for this position.
